Internal Quality Concerns

Manage internal quality concerns or non-conformances such as material defects in Everest.

Internal quality concerns can be driven by audits, inspections, systemic issues or management and process reviews. Some elements might include:

  • Three-level defect code classifications
  • Products, product groups, manufacturing locations, lot numbers
  • Corrective Actions
  • Preventive Actions
  • Supplier Corrective Actions

Managing Material and Process Non-Conformance

A strong Corrective and Preventive Action solution is the heart of a sound quality management system and is central to a continuous improvement process. It must include processes for investigating and documenting non-conformance findings.  An objective root cause evaluation needs to penetrate superficial causes.  Short term and permanent corrective and preventive actions require thorough planning.  Finally, follow-up verification is a critical step to ensure effectiveness of the implementation.
